Review: Mr Coffee 12-cup programmable coffee maker

2020-07-04T16:59:21+00:003 August 2019|Categories: Reviews|Tags: |

Mr. Coffee 12-cup programmable coffee maker (CGX23) is among the best affordable drip coffee makers. Though its performance does not live up to the best drip coffee makers (it takes an extended period of time to brew a cup of coffee), I was impressed with the advanced feature set in this machine. Fully programmable (auto on and off). Plastic, but neat quality. Good price-to-value ratio. BPA-free, but contains LOTS of plastic chemicals unknown to me.

Review: DeLonghi Nespresso Lattissima Pro

2020-06-12T15:26:13+00:0021 July 2019|Categories: Reviews|Tags: |

I had a mostly good experience with the DeLonghi Nespresso Lattissima Pro. The machine is a solid yet simple espresso machine for beginners or intermediate users. Nespresso Lattissima Pro comes with quite a lot of useful features: easy operation, rapid heat-up time, and 19 BARs of pressure to extract coffee. The brewing temperature is not exactly perfect, but the outcome is a cup of creamy, delicious and incredibly smooth coffee. I did not like that the machine limited me to the use of aluminium capsules only. The machine seems a bit expensive given limited use (but seems fair given the quality of coffee) [...]

Review: DeLonghi EC155 review: a small but convenient espresso machine

2020-06-12T01:43:20+00:0019 July 2019|Categories: Reviews|Tags: |

DeLonghi EC155 can be a surprising espresso maker. It can be a great choice for some, but DeLonghi's EC155 may not fit all. My machine came at a reasonable price tag. I appreciated that unlike other espresso machines, DeLonghi Espresso EC155 is a compact and lightweight appliance. Despite some positives, I did not love the machine [...]

Review: Zojirushi coffee maker (5 cup)

2020-05-09T20:05:53+00:0015 July 2019|Categories: Reviews|Tags: |

The Zojirushi Coffee Maker 5 cup is a very simple yet efficient coffee maker. It’s compact and lightweight, making it a good choice for most smaller spaces. Though mostly made with plastic, Zojirushi coffee maker (5 cup), or Zojirushi Zutto coffee maker, is a nice and quite sturdy coffee maker. Though advertised as 5 cups, I only measured had the capacity of about 24oz (4 cups). Given its low price, it comes with good features beating some of its competitors like AmazonBasics. The unit is more expensive than other similar units, but I feel like the feature set and quality stand behind the price.

Review: Ninja Coffee Bar Single Serve (CF112)

2020-05-09T20:06:54+00:0015 July 2019|Categories: Reviews|Tags: |

This is Ninja Coffee Bar Single Serve (CF112) is a great coffee maker. It offers unparalleled versatility and ease of use. It brews very decent cups of coffee. We put it to a test in this CF112 review. Ninja Coffee Bar Single Serve (CF112) deliver hot, iced and specialty coffee drinks in different sizes. I loved its clean design, useful features and technical specifications. It takes a while to brew, and coffee appears a bit too weak and a bit too cold for me. Not as advanced as newer and more advanced coffee bars from Ninja. At $$$$ price point, it's an okay, but not great price to value.

Review: Bialetti Moka Express (6 cup)

2019-10-26T17:56:55+00:0013 July 2019|Categories: Reviews|

Similar to a 3-cup Moka, Bialetti Moka Express (6 cup) is a great example of another no-plastic coffee brewer. It offers quite amazing flexibility in coffee brewing. We have found it sell for an average of about $30, which is just a tad more expensive than a 3-cup Moka Express, but brews 2X more coffee. It’s also made primarily of aluminium (alas). It involves some manual work in brewing, and is overall very easy and convenient to use. Overall, we were quite WOWed 😮, but also found a couple of weaknesses of this product. Find out more.

Review: Bialetti Moka Express (3 cup)

2019-10-26T17:57:03+00:0013 July 2019|Categories: Reviews|

Bialetti Moka Express (3 cup) is a great example of a no-plastic coffee brewer, which offers unparalleled flexibility and ownership in the brewing process. For an average of $28, I find this Bialetti 3 cup percolator to be a very strong proposition. It can brew delicious, rich and fragrant coffee. It’s made primarily of aluminium (alas). It involves some manual work in brewing, and is overall very easy and convenient to use. Overall, we were quite WOWed 😮, but also found a couple of weaknesses of this product. Find out more.

Review: Breville Nespresso Creatista Plus

2020-05-09T20:07:04+00:0011 July 2019|Categories: Reviews|Tags: |

Nespresso Creatista Plus is an elegant espresso machine. Though similar to Nespresso Creatista, which we reviewed earlier this month, Creatista Plus is just tiny more advanced. Creatista Plus has a few more froth texture levels, a few more milk temperature options, some body style differences, shorter heat up temperature, and, obviously, higher price. In my opinion, the difference between Creatista and Creatista Plus is too minor to pay substantially more for Creatista Plus. Though it is a nice espresso machine, I feel that...
