2022 Buyer’s guide for top coffee makers $100
Finding a good coffee maker that costs below $100 is not an easy task since many coffee makers are disappointing at best. In our reviews, we have encountered coffee makers that yielded strong plastic flavors, brewed horribly-tasting coffee or broke after a couple of uses.
We were also surprised about the selection. While looking for coffee brewers under $100 on different sites, we have found dozens of little known brands filling the market with their appliances. We have tested some of their coffee machines, and we were not happy with the results.
On the good news, we have identified some very strong coffee makers under $100. They typically come from strong, reliable and beloved brands such as Ninja, Cuisinart, Hamilton Beach, and Keurig. We have also found one outlier, MK1 by Redline.
When we put coffee makers to test, we paid particular attention to several aspects: external appearance, features, performance, health and safety and price-to-value ratio. Such a comprehensive overview allows us to fairly evaluate coffee makers, and rank them accordingly.
In our experience, features and performance are intertwined.
Some features allow to brew delicious coffee full of depth and richness. These include, but are not limited to strength control, temperature adjustment, heating elements, materials for brewer and pre-infusion.
On the other hand, other features are simply for convenience and ease. These make coffee brewing easy, mess-free and intuitive. Those include, for instance, mid-brew pause (to stop dripping when a carafe is removed), 24-hour programmability, operation via an App (like in the Alexa Coffee Maker), or one-touch operation.
